Beach Rules: No Loud Music

Portugal has strict etiquette for its beaches. Using portable speakers to play loud music is legally prohibited and can result in fines ranging from €200 to €4,000 if someone complains to the Maritime Police.

Also, dogs are generally banned from concessioned beaches (those with lifeguards and sunbeds) during the bathing season (June-September), unless explicitly marked as "Pet Friendly".
