3-Year Warranty on Goods

In Portugal, the legal warranty period for new movable goods (electronics, furniture, appliances) is 3 years. If a product breaks within this period due to a defect, the seller must repair, replace, or refund it.

Always keep your receipt (fatura). For the first two years, the defect is presumed to have existed at delivery. In the third year, you may need to prove the defect wasn't caused by misuse.
