Getting a Fishing License
Fishing in the ocean or rivers requires a license. The easiest way to get one is at any Multibanco ATM. Select "Licença de Pesca," choose the type (National, Regional, or Local), and pay the fee (around €12/year).
The ATM receipt serves as your license; keep it with your ID while fishing. Fishing without a license carries fines, and maritime police patrol the coastlines regularly.
