IRS Automático: Automatic Tax Filing

For employees and pensioners with simple income sources, Portugal offers "IRS Automático". The tax authority pre-fills your declaration based on reported income and e-fatura expenses.

Between April 1st and June 30th, you simply log in to confirm the data. If you do nothing, it is automatically submitted at the end of the period, but it is safer to review it manually to ensure all deductions (health, rent) are counted.
