Disposing of Large Items (Monstros)

Leaving old furniture or mattresses next to street bins is illegal and carries heavy fines. Instead, every municipality offers a free pickup service for "Monstros" (Monsters/Large Waste).

You simply call your local parish council (Junta de Freguesia) or check their app to schedule a pickup time. They will tell you exactly when to place the item outside your door for collection.
