Lawyer vs. Solicitor: Who to Hire?

In Portugal, both Lawyers (Advogados) and Solicitors (Solicitadores) can handle legal paperwork, property deeds, and tax representation. Solicitors are often cheaper and specialize in bureaucracy and contracts.

However, only Lawyers can represent you in court. For standard visa applications or buying a house, a Solicitor is often sufficient and more cost-effective. Both have the power to certify copies of documents (making them valid for AIMA).
