How to Drive on Roundabouts

Portugal has strict rules for roundabouts. You must only use the right-hand (outside) lane if you are taking the very next exit. For all other exits, you must enter the inner lanes.

Police frequently fine drivers who stay in the outside lane to go straight or left. You must signal right before you exit. If you are in the inner lane, you must yield to traffic in the outer lane before moving over to exit.
