D8 Digital Nomad Visa Basics

The D8 visa is for remote workers and freelancers employed by companies outside Portugal. You must present a work contract or service agreement that explicitly states you can work remotely.

The financial threshold is higher than the D7. You must prove an average monthly income of at least 4 times the Portuguese minimum wage (approx. €3,480 in 2026) over the last 3 months.
